This policy explains what information Pest Control Helper collects at pestcontrolhelper.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect very little, we use it to answer you and to run and improve the site, and we don't sell your information.

What we collect #
When you use the contact form or email us
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your message, and anything else you choose to include
When you use the "Was this page helpful?" buttons
- Your answer (yes or no) and the address of the page
- Anything you type in the optional box
- Your IP address and browser user agent, which the site keeps with your answer to stop spam
Your answer stays with this site. We use it to see which guides need work.
When you visit the site Like most websites, our servers and our hosting and security providers automatically record basic technical information. This can include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, the date and time, and the page that sent you here. We use it to keep the site secure and to count visits to each page.
Cookies and visit counts We don't use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics services. The site counts visits to each page with its own built-in tool, which doesn't use cookies. The site may set a few cookies it needs to run and stay secure, such as to protect the contact form from spam. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The guides will still work, but the contact form may not.
We don't ask for payment information, Social Security numbers, or health information. Please don't send them.
How we use it #
- To read and answer your message
- To fix mistakes and improve the guides, including counting visits to see which guides are useful
- To keep the site running and secure, and to block spam and abuse
- To follow the law
We don't use your information for targeted advertising. We don't send marketing email.
Who receives it #
- Us. Messages from the contact form, and emails to [email protected], are forwarded to our inbox.
- Service providers. Companies that host the site, protect it, and route, deliver, and store email handle data so the site can work. They handle it under their own terms and privacy policies.
- When the law requires it. We may share information if required by law, or to protect the safety of people or the site.
We don't share your information with pest control companies. We don't sell it, rent it, or trade it.
How long we keep it #
We keep contact messages, including the copies in our inbox, for 12 months, then delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer. Server logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting. Then they're deleted.
Your choices #
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we have about you
- Correct it
- Delete it
Email [email protected] or use the contact form. We'll respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm it's really you before we act.
Children #
This site is meant for adults. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security #
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive personal details.
Links to other sites #
Our guides link to government agencies, universities, and other sites. Those sites have their own privacy policies. We don't control them.
Texas law #
This site is written for people in Texas. This policy is governed by Texas law and applicable U.S. federal law.
Changes #
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date. If we make a big change in how we use your information, we'll say so clearly on this page.
